You live a busy life, and you don't always have time to come into our office to order replacement contact lenses. At Broadway Vision, we know you need an easier way. We now offer you the option of ordering your contact lenses online right from our website. You'll save time every time you order, and if you have any problems we'll be happy to see you in our office to answer any questions you might have.
When you first decide to wear contact lenses, and once every year or two after that, you'll start with a complete contact lens eye examination. This more than a simple vision test. Our optometrist, Dr. Charles Gold, will patiently give you a comprehensive eye examination designed to find the exact right contact lenses for your eyes.
A basic vision test is the beginning. Our doctor will use an instrument called a phoropter, which looks like a large pair of industrial eye glasses. You'll look through the lenses on this instrument while the doctor shows you pairs of lenses. You'll choose which one of each pair is clearer, enabling Dr. Gold to narrow down your contact lens prescription.
After the doctor knows the strength of your eyesight, he'll measure your eyeballs. We need to know the width and height of your eye, as well as the curvature of the eyeball. This allows us to create a contact lens that mimics the exact shape of your eye, allowing it to sit snugly against the surface.
Once you have your prescription, you'll go home with a starter set of lenses. Most lenses today are disposable, though, and are meant to be thrown away on a regular basis. This isn't waste; they're made of light material that doesn't have a very long lifespan. Once you're almost out of lenses, order replacement sets on our website, using the prescription we gave you. Since you're a customer, we'll already have those details online.
Ordering contact lenses online with us offers multiple benefits. Since we already have your information, you won't have to worry about saving a written prescription somewhere you won't lose it. Also, unlike other online contact lens services, our contacts are still backed by the professional services of our doctor and our office staff. If you have any questions at all, or are having problems with your lenses, call our Manhattan NY office at 646-663-5080. We can answer most questions on the phone, and if you have a problem we can't help you with, we'll be happy to make an appointment for you to see Dr. Gold.
